Cardiotoxicity is a known adverse effect of this drug and is
manifested in shortness of breath, edema, and palpitations.


Urine color changes occur


Side effects: alopecia, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis,
myelosuppression (watch for anemia)
Adverse reactions: vesication (except for bleomycin and
mithracin) blistering of tissues (report right away after
stopping infusion).


Cultural considerations - neutropenia (Asians),
hyperpigmentation for darker skin. Put on reverse isolation.

rxns most common pneumonia, hypersensitivy rxns, max

Bleomycin can cause anaphylaxis, so patients should be
monitored for respiratory distress


vincristine (Oncovin) Antineoplastic
A plant alkaloid chemotherapeutic agent
Uses: Hodgkin's disease, Leukemias, Neuroblastoma,
Malignant lymphomas, Rhabdomyosarcoma, Wilms' tumor,
Other tumors.



Common Side effect: Peripheral neuropathy can occur with
this drug and is manifested by difficulty walking and numbness
and tingling in the fingers and toes. will cause permanent
damage if not treated.
