C200 - Managing Organizations and Leading People

Zainab Chandna

February 3rd, 2026

, The results of the CliftonStrengths assessment articulated the following leadership strengths:

Achiever, Learner, Focus, Context, and Restorative. Combined, these reveal that my leadership

style is grounded in performance-based progress and may at times lack personality or charisma.

Understanding and reflecting on these helps me recognize what I naturally bring to a leadership

role and appreciate where I need to find more balance. This would ensure that I lead in a more

effective and sustainable way.

Achiever sits at the core of what I do. As the only sister to two brothers, I developed a strong

internal drive to be productive and achieve from a very young age. As a leader, this emerges

through deliverable timelines that I set for myself and my team. As an example, I prefer to take

initiative and complete tasks which are not directly assigned to me or are not due imminently. This

leaves more room for review and improvements. While this can help achieve short-term goals, I

find that this can often put pressure on team members who may not respond to pressure the same

way that I do resulting in avoidable mistakes. I recognize that there is a need to strike a balance

between getting things done without overshadowing sustainability and quality of work.

Learner defines my approach to growth and development. I value learning opportunities greatly as

they provide an opportunity to understand different worldviews and perspectives. For me, learning

can take many forms – reading the daily newspaper to learn about world affairs to sitting down

with a colleague to learn from their experiences. In leadership, this makes me open to trying new

approaches. I believe every team member, regardless of experience and tenure, can bring valuable

lessons to advance collective goals. As an example, I am currently a volunteer mentor to junior

staff which allows me to foster relationships, pass along best practices, and overcome my own

shortcomings.
