Personal Leadership Strengths
The results of the Clifton Strengths assessment identified my top five strengths as
restorative, deliberative, analytical, belief, and responsibility. These results will allow me to
develop strategies for the demands in my personal life and grow within my professional career
and beyond.
In the Executing theme, they are identified as people who implement a solution to a
problem and know how to make things happen. In this theme, I was identified as a Restorative
domain. Restorative domain people are adept at dealing with problems and are good at figuring
out what is wrong and resolving it. Gallup identifies people with Restorative talents who love to
solve problems and enjoy the challenges of analyzing symptoms. In my previous position as a
Quality Engineer, I was responsible for identifying manufacturing defects, fixing them, and
preventing them from repeating. I would work with the assembly operators to understand the
process and collaborate with the assemblers and engineers to create a fixture or change the
process. This collaboration would allow the team to identify potential design or process issues to
eliminate future defects. These changes would be adopted across the manufacturing operation to
address one issue and potentially another. I had a situation where three units were soldered
warped, and in this condition, the unit would not allow the missile to detonate correctly. These
units were unrepairable and undeliverable to the customer and were found over a six-month
production span. I worked with assembly personnel and engineering to develop a soldering
fixture that eliminated the warped condition. We looked at other assembly processes with
similar soldering activities and created tooling to combat this situation for one production line
and the entire manufacturing process.
