technical nursing practice. Baccalaureate degree nursing programs are 4 year
programs for nurses. The University of Minnesota School of Nursing was the first
university program for nurses, opened in 1909. There are also degrees for
practical/vocational nursing, typically one year in length, as well as ladder
programs such as LPN/LVN to ADN to BSN, and BSN to DNP or BSN to PhD.
Advanced education degrees include Master's Degrees for NP, CRNA, CNMs,
CNSs, as well as DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) and PhDs, a research/acedemic
