Relative Humidity
Give this one a try later!
Relative Humidity (RH) is the degree of saturation of a parcel of air at a
specific temperature. It isexpressed as a percentage. If the air holds
enough vapour for it to spontaneously condense onsurfaces, it has
reached 100% relative humidity. If the air only holds 50% of the amount
ofmoisture that the air is capable of holding at that temperature, then it is
said to have an RH of50%.
In the northern hemisphere, does the wind circulate around a low pressure area
clockwise or anti-clockwise?

What three factors govern the amount of insolation received at a location on planet
Earth?
Give this one a try later!
a) The latitude of the observer;
b) The Sun's declination (angle north or south of the equator) which varies
with the seasons, up toapproximately 23⁰ 27' North in the northern
midsummer (June), and 23⁰ 27' South in the southernmidsummer
(December);
c) The length of the day
How much of the radiation received from the sun is reflected back into space and
does notcontribute to the heating of the planet Earth?

30%
A cloud has a base at 500 metres altitude and it extends to 2200 metres. If it does not
belong to the vertical development family what family would it be classified as and
why?
Give this one a try later!
, The top of the cloud is not considered in the classification therefore it
belongs to the low cloud family
What causes diurnal atmospheric pressure variations? What do these diurnal changes
help to detectin the tropics?
Give this one a try later!
These are due to the atmospheric tides caused by the sun and the moon. In
the tropics these diurnal variations of pressure may be as much as 2 to 3
millibars. In the tropics and lower latitudes the diurnal change plays an
important role in the early detection of tropical revolving storms. A fall
from the normal diurnal range of two to three millibars is often thefirst
portent of the approach of a tropical revolving storm (TRS).
Temperature Correction (mercurial barometer)
Give this one a try later!
To ensure consistent readings a correction is applied to equate thereading
to that of a standard temperature. Depending on the type of barometer the
standard is either 15⁰C or 0⁰C.
provide examples of cloud types in low cloud family

, Low clouds range from near the ground to 2000 metres. They include
Stratus, NimboStratus, StratoCumulus.
stratocumulus

a lumpy or patterned layer cloud
Where are thunderstorms most likely to be found at sea?
Give this one a try later!
At an advancing cold front, where the front is pushing up the warm moist
air in the warm sector, causing the rapid upward movement (or convection)
of that ai. The other likely location is at the ITCZ.
What must occur for water to change state from liquid to gas?
Give this one a try later!
In order to change from liquid to vapour, water must absorb latent heat.
This latent heat will notraise the temperature of the water
