The assignment must be typed, double-spaced, 12 font, and two pages long. Academic honesty

The essay draft will be evaluated on the basis of a) comprehensiveness and clarity of analysis
b) quality of writing and organization of material c) the smooth flow and logic of your analysis
d) a demonstration that you have understood the course material and e) proper documentation
Essay
The essay question consists of two parts (A & B), and you are required to address both
parts of the question. The essay should draw on the lecture material and the text.
Total: 20 points (Part A: 8 points; B: 12 points)
A) Discuss the social contract theory and its contribution.
B) Explain the important features of democracy. Also, examine the two different views
regarding the appropriate role of a representative in a democracy; which one would you
prefer and why?
