Impact of the Problem on the Patient
One of the most common problems that plagues the nursing
profession is burnout. New grads establishing footing in the profession
initially have good will and motivation to put their knowledge into
practice but through this journey many nurses are falling victim to
career setbacks that can result in physical and mental trauma. While
the ailments may be similar for all the trajectory to getting to that
point varies since it is largely dictated by the type of work
environment the nurse is exposed to. Nursing burnout ultimately leads
to a reduced amount of satisfaction for the profession. The
dissatisfaction trickles down to a decline in the nurse’s ability to
perform their duties effectively which puts any patients that fall under
the nurse’s care in substantial jeopardy.
Impact of the Problem on the Organization
The reason why nursing burnout is such a significant issue is due
to that fact that it impacts nurses in a wide array of facets. Nurses that
deal with burnout may deal with depression, anxiety, anger,
