C717 Task 1
A. Create three corporate policies that reflect the organization’s culture and ethical viewpoints.
A1. TechFite is passionate about developing employees into leaders, through employee
empowerment and corporate decision-making.
A2. TechFite cares about the individual and is committed to ensuring ethical responsibility for
employees.
A3. TechFite has a strong presence in the community and takes pride in sponsoring local youth
leadership development programs.
1. Explain the rationale behind the policies, including how they align with the organization’s
culture.
The organization maintains a reputation for having a culture that will develop and encourage
the growth of employees. The organization is known for possessing a rich culture that places
an emphasis on the growth and development of the individual, which in turn, helps the
growth of the organization.
Employees have voiced their concerns over the number of hours worked every week, the
low wages, and the benefits they are not able to receive because of being part-time
employees. New organizations can struggle to maintain enough production, and
labor/benefits to financially support full-time employees. A policy needed to be made and
maintained for ethical responsibility on behalf of the organization protecting every
employee, not just the top executives, financially. The funds allotted to certain individuals
need to be invested in the organization, ensuring that more full-time employees can be paid
and maintained at that status.
Since the organization makes such an effort to support local community outreach programs,
they are not only receiving a better community outlook but are supporting the
organizational culture by developing and growing the individual. A strong presence in the
community is a focus of this organization because they take social responsibility for the
surrounding community in which many of the employees live.
2. Distinguish between ethical and legal issues.
TechFite having a culture of growing and developing employees, and the community, are
both ethical issues. There is no law stating that the organization must maintain good social
relations with the surrounding community, or offer employees anything more than a safe,
and lawful working environment that is currently in effect.
TechFite making the decision to allot funds to certain employees, whatever rank, or status
they may be, is also an ethical issue. If the organization is not engaging in any illegal activity,
