Upson Regional Medical Center (URMC), located in Thomaston, Georgia.
A2. Significance of Chosen Healthcare Organization
URMC is significant to me because it is the hospital that I have been employed at my entire
career as a Registered Nurse. I have been employed at URMC for 18 years. Prior to employment
at URMC, I completed nursing clinicals in the department that I currently manage. URMC delivers
individualized care to diverse populations with a superb team of care providers.
A3. Type of Facility
Upson Regional Medical Center is a Level II critical care access, short-term acute care
facility. It consists of 99 total staffed beds. URMC offers clinical services in cardiology, emergency,
orthopedics, rehabilitation, surgery, wound care, radiology, women’s services and hemodialysis.
URMC is a Certified Stroke and Chest Pain Center and has obtained verification from The Joint
Commission as a Level II Maternal Care Center.
