1. How did the scenario make you feel? This was the first time I had ever done a virtual sim. It was pretty interesting and I think with it being online, I kept forgetting to do things that I would do if I were in the room with a real patient. For example, I continuously forgot to ask the patient if the had any allergies before administering medication. I had trouble completing everything before the patient started complaining of a pneumothorax. This is why I only received 95% on the sim. I clicked assess IV site at the same time he started complaining of pain, which caused the system not to count it. I enjoyed learning how to take care of a patient with a pneumothorax and chest tube. 2. When a patient develops a rapid onset of shortness of breath, what are the nurse’s immediate priorities?
