A. Introduction
Strafford County, New Hampshire is considered a metropolitan area and is located in the
southeastern part of New Hampshire; an area more commonly referred to as “The Seacoast”.
Strafford County is less than an hour from the mountains, less than 30 minutes from the beach,
and about an hour north of the major city of Boston, Massachusetts, making it a popular county
to live in. However, despite its sought-after location, Strafford County is ranked #8 out of the 10
counties in New Hampshire and ranked in the lower middle range (25-50%) for health outcomes
and for health factors (County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, 2024).
