, Prelude
The person that I connected with for this report seemed to be, at least for me, an example of
the Providence of God and how He places us in the right place, at the right time, to receive a
person that has been guided to us unknowingly of the individual.
Part ONE: The Circumstances
The week prior to this assignment, we had an incident at our Church where a young man
decided to do some significant damage to our security cameras. Since I am retired and all the
other members of our leadership team were at work, I was called an informed that the security
company would be sending a technician to the Church to inspect the damage and replace some
components. We also had to add some additional hardware to upgrade our system. About
10:00am on Thursday, I was at the church when the technician arrived. He was a very young
man that was beginning his career as a Security Systems Technician. As he inspected our system,
I could see that he was frustrated about something so I tried to assure him that everything would
work out just fine and he just needed to relax. He told me about his morning and the source of
his frustration. He had to drive 45 miles to pick up his assigned vehicle and drive back to our
location. While he was driving, he received additional install orders with no warning so he had to
turn round and go back to their business location to pick up additional materials for the other
installs. I told him that was no problem for us because I would be at the Church all day anyway
so I was not in a rush. Then he said that he was a residential installer and he had never done a
commercial install before. I told him to relax and we would figure it out. After he had gained
access to our system, he told me that he would need to upgrade our wiring because the new
cameras were digital and we had analog wiring so he would need to run fiber optic cable to all
the distribution points in the building.
