Beams - Answer: Held up by columns to form the roof. Sometimes spaces were left

Hypostyle Hall - Answer: Large room with columns. Most of the room was dark except for
the center aisle which was lit by small windows cut into the roof. Represented a marsh in
the beginning of time.

Obelisk - Answer: Tall, narrow, rectangular stone pillars with a pyramid shape at the top.

Column - Answer: Upright, circular pillars that support a beam or roof beam. Can be
different shapes and sizes. In many cases, they were covered with paintings and
hieroglyphics
Sphinx - Answer: an imaginary creature with a human head and the body of a lion that was
often shown on Egyptian statues
