project management
1. Introduction
In this report for the P2 criteria, I will be explaining the resources that are available in order to
support the Project Manager. The following resources that I will be explaining about is the following:
Informaton; People; Euuipment and Facilites; and Finance.
Moreover, in this part of the report for the P3 criteria, I will be discussing four issues that can afect
project management. The following issues that I am going to discuss are the following:
Communicatons; Monitoring Progress; Changing External Factors; Guidelines and Legalisaton.
2. Project Management Resources (P2)
What is a project management resource? Resources that need to be available in order to
support the manager who is managing the project in order to get the project completed.
Without it would cause the project to fail and would be constraint as it would not get
completed on tme.
2.1 Information
A few projects that are ran by businesses exist but without the informaton reuuired. In a
project, there are some informaton which the project manager needs and they may currently
exist in another system. Due to this, the project will need to round up the team to build feeds
from the systems. Furthermore, it is ofen that the project may need to capture new informaton
in order to renew the current informaton. The project will need to have the functons in order
to do this. Lastly, your project may need to give out the informaton to other existng systems.
2.2 People
When carrying out a project you will have a group of many people with a variety of skills. An
example of this would be person A having communicaton skills, person B having crafsmanship
skill and so on. All of these many skills can help contribute towards the project in order to make
the project successful. If there was a company and they gave an individual a massive task, it
would be difcult for that person as he/she may only have one skill therefore making it
impossible for the project to be completed. Also, the person would have to go huntng and hiring
many people with many diferent skills and that would also waste tme as well as the project has
a set deadline – the tme given for the project instead is used for hiring people.
In a larger business project, there are four skills which will come across useful from diferent
specialists and they are likely to include:
Project Manager(s) – Project manager or mangers who is/are responsible for the project
management and making sure their aims are get, on schedule and to budget.
System Analysts – users and customers are talked to with the System Analysts about
their needs and then produce a system specifcaton of what the system should do.
