BUS-FPX4047 – Employee Training and Development
Introduction
The future of training and development is heavily influenced by technological
advancements, leading to a landscape where learning experiences are highly personalized,
accessible, and immersive, with key technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality
(VR), and augmented reality (AR) playing a pivotal role in creating dynamic and effective
training programs for employees across various industries (Google AI, 2024). In this assessment
I will focus specifically on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and wearable technology.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Internet of Things (IoT)
, Description: Britannica defines artificial intelligence (AI) as the ability of a computer of
computer-controlled robot to perform tasks that are commonly associated with the intellectual
processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason. Artificial intelligence of things
(AIoT) is the combination of AI and the internet of things (IoT). AIoT aims to improve human-
machine interactions, data, management, and analytics, while making IoT operations more
efficient (Google AI, 2024). The birth of AI was from 1950-1956. Alan Turing published his
work “Computer Machinery and Intelligence” which eventually became The Turing Test, which
experts used to measure computer intelligence. The term “artificial intelligence” was coined and
came into popular use (Tableau, 2024). Kevin Ashton is sometime called the “Inventor of IoT”
since he first used the term in 1999 to describe a system where the internet is connected to the
physical world via ubiquitous sensors (Avnet, 2018).
ASN+ gives a list of advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
1. Increased efficiency: AIoT enables real-time automation and optimization of processes,
leading to greater efficiency and productivity.
