The application for a High Risk Work (HRW) licence must be made within __ days of receiving
a Notice of Assessment (NOA) issued by an assessor affiliated with a Registered Training
Organisation (RTO). 60 Days
How often must a HRW licence be renewed? Every 5 years
If you do not renew you license within twelve months of its expiry date... * The old
licence cannot be renewed
* You will need to complete a course for a HRW licence with an RTO to be able to re-apply for a
new HRW licence
* Or only continue using a forklift if enrolled in a course with an RTO while been supervised by
a current HRW licence holder for that class of equipment
Explain 'Duty of Care' The Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 states that all workers
have a legal responsibillity under duty of care to protect self and others from harm by acting in a
safe manner at all times and follow safe work practices

Failing to work safely when performing high risk work can lead to the licence holder being
penalised under OHS regulations. What penalties apply? 1. Their licence may be
suspended or cancelled.

2 The regulator may refuse to renew the licence
If a holder of a high risk work licence becomes aware that they are no longer competent to carry
out the work for which they hold a licence, they must: * Stop and not perform the HRW
* Retrain to become fully competent
* Return the HRW licence to the WorkSafe

You must hold the correct licence type for HRW and If requested by an employer you must
provide - * Relevant HRW licence for equipment being used
* Evidence you are enrolled in or undertaking a HRW licence course with an RTO
