Abortion Should Remain Legal: An Argumentative Essay
The issue of abortion has been debated for the longest period across the globe, religions, and cultures, each having its own opinion on how the matter should be handled. The question of whether it should remain legal has been subjected to moral, cultural, and ethical discussions, with those supporting the act identifying themselves as pro-choice while those opposing the act are pro-life. Pro-choice individuals hold that the practice isn't a crime as long as the woman willingly decides to abort, while pro-life hold that the practice is a crime that should be treated as murder. The Roe vs. Wade case of 1973 oversaw the Supreme Court of the United States of America legalizing abortion, and since then, the controversies about the issue have continued to escalate. The legalization was based on the fact that every woman has control over her body and should be left to do what pleases her. Well, abortion is a matter of opinion which, and I think it should remain legal. This paper, therefore, persuades readers on a pro-choice basis that the practice ought to remain legal.
