Succession Planning Part Two and Candidates Recommendations Introduction With Biotech’s current growth plans and evolving strategies in mind, the succession plan was designed to align future leadership strategies and developments with the organization’s evolving goals (Trapp, 2014). The committee had started by researching leadership competencies that align with Biotech’s core values which are used as a guide to the organization’s strategy, mission, and vision creation. The research also included taking the leadership competencies used to define the organization's core values to identify future leadership characteristics, skills, and traits in order to find the best successor for five positions in the executive teams. The main goal of the succession plan is to ensure sustainability and increase successful transitions throughout the organization (Flower, 2017). After extensive research, the committee interviewed and assessed five internal candidates for the hiring positions
