Required Hours: Minimum of 72 hours must be completed by the end of NR631. Practicum hours may consist of the following:
(1) any direct work on the approved practicum project, (2) research on issues related to the topic that are necessary for project
completion, (3) meetings with the mentor or other persons or groups for the purpose of project completion, (4) meetings or
activities that can be mapped to one of the AONL Nurse Executive Competencies, (5) meetings with the mentor and/or site
orientation prior to the course opening, and (6) other activities that directly relate to the site experience with approval of
mentor and/or faculty. All hours must be documented on Student Activity Log. Travel time to and from the practicum site and
time spent working on practicum portfolio requirements cannot be included in the 72 hours. Documentation must demonstrate
activities related to course outcomes (COs), specialty competencies, and the student’s Learning Agreement.
Due dates: submitted each week (Weeks 1–7) by 11:59 p.m. MT Sunday; completed and signed activities log due by 11:59 p.m. MT
Saturday of Week 8. The student and mentor must sign to verify completion of hours before final submission Saturday of Week 8.
Total Possible Points: 100 (10 points each, Weeks 1–7; 30 points for completed and signed log in Week 8)
Note: 5 points will be deducted for each week in which the activities log was submitted past the deadline.
