Understanding how we got to understand the brain today and what are some forms of studying it with other non-human animals.

Understanding what happens before an action potential, and how a neuron should be so it eventually fires an action potential.

Understanding how an action potential happens, which structures are involved in the process and what is needed to be effective.

Understanding how a synapse happens, its characteristics, different types, and mechanisms.

Understanding how the action potential will be propagated to other neurons and produce a post-synaptic response. Learn about the characteristics of this process and the differences between the different phases.

Understanding how neurons communicate through the action of neurotransmitters and the different forms that might happen. Examples of neurotransmitters are presented and the process of synaptic transmission is also explained.

Learning the terminology and main functions of the structures in the brain and the spinal cord. Understanding how they are connected and getting a glimpse of how they develop in the fetus.

Understanding the mechanisms of how movement happens in the body. Beginning from the anatomy of the involved regions and how the brain and the spinal cord are part of this process. Finishing with some examples of voluntary and involuntary movements.
