1.1 DOMEIN
Het onderwerp van een bepaalde wetenschap of discipline.
Voor de psychologie is dat de mens, zowel zijn innerlijke psyche als zijn gedragingen, maar ook zijn
interactie met de context waarin hij leefde en leeft.


1.2 HYPOTHESEN EN THEORIEËN

Elke wetenschap is een vereenvoudiging van de totale werkelijkheid.
Iedere psychologische theorie faalt aangezien je niet in de huid van de ander kan gaan zitten.
Bvb. “What is it like to be a bat?”


1.4 INTERSUBJECTIEVE OVEREENSTEMMING
Iets is geldig of waar voor een groep mensen onderling.
Bvb. het geloof in God, het is niet omdat een groep mensen er in gelooft, dat het ook echt zo is
Wetenschap streeft naar intersubjectieve overeenstemming tussen diegene die zich aan
wetenschappelijke regels houden.

1.7 KRITISCH
Alle wetenschappen worden kritisch opgebouwd; men vraagt zich af of het verzamelde
feitenmateriaal niet gekleurd is door subjectieve vooronderstellingen en verwachtingen.
Het is pas als men tot een intersubjectieve overeenstemming komt, als verschillende
onderzoekers het eens zijn, dat de conclusies worden geaccepteerd binnen de wetenschap.


1.8 MENSBEELD EN FILOSOFISCH GEDACHTEGOED
Elke wetenschap impliceert een mens- en wereldbeeld, een visie, een levensbeschouwing is
ofwel onderliggend bij het formuleren van nieuwe paradigma of vloeit als een onlosmakelijke
conclusie voort uit de opgebouwde theorieën.

verbaal gedrag primeerden en er weinig aandacht was voor introspectie.
