sprinkler heads and alarms intended for fire fighting operations.
Has its own separate water supply.
Fire department connection Ans: — This is the external connection

Pre-action Ans: — Sprinkler system with no water or pressurised
air in piping.
Pre-action valve prevents water from entering piping until fire
detectors (smoke detector, pull-station) are activated.
Water will remain at sprinkler head until heat fuses the head.
Pre-action prevents accidental water release from damaged
sprinklers.
Dry pipe/Pre-action combination Ans: — Piping is loaded with
pressurised air. Heat detecting devises (smoke detector, pull
station) activate and open water valve allowing water into system.
Deluge system Ans: — Equipped with open sprinkler heads.
Intended for hazardous areas that require rapid wet down (several
sprinkler heads fuse simultaneously)
