How to Study for Each Section of the ATI TEAS 7 Test 2025
This study guide is based on my experience and how I studied prior to taking the TEAS 7 test. This was my first attempt taking the TEAS 7 since it was introduced, which I received an overall score of 88%. The following information are the resources I used to study and how to study. I will go over what topics I encountered, but I WILL NOT disclose specific information (questions nor answers) directly from the test I took (it is illegal). I will also NOT disclose specific information from the resources I used to study due to copyright reasons from the ATI TEAS 7 group). You would need to buy them yourself to review what is in the resources. This is not to say to ONLY focus on the following things I will mention. You should study as much as you can and be prepared for any questions that could be asked on each section. All tests are different; therefore, you will not get the same questions on the real test like another person9s test. Some might not even show up on your test. Bottom line is being well versed in different categories is important for a good score. Knowing how to study and how to remember information, even basic information, is key to getting a great score. Again, this is only my experience and if you want to follow my guide or incorporate it into your existing study routine, that is also acceptable. One thing to keep in mind as to how I studied is that I am a full-time student 3 meaning that I do not work. lOMoAR cPSD| Some questions that were asked of me were: Q: How long did you study for? A: I started studying around mid-May, all the way through the month of June, and two weeks in the month of July. So approximately two (2) months. My studying was interrupted as I contracted covid and was not in good condition to study. Hence, why I only studied two weeks in July. The other two I spent the time recovering from COVID. Before I got sick, I studied every morning until night (Hence why my study method, which includes studying many hours, may not suit some who have a job that takes all their time from studying but you can incorporate into your short study sessions). Q: What resources did you buy/use to study? A: I bought the ATI TEAS comprehensive package. Go to their website, to check out their comprehensive package and what it includes. I also bought Brandon Craft9s ATI TEAS math review from his website, to check out his products. Smart Edition Academy is also another resource I used to study. The website is to check out their product and what they offer. Free resources (from YouTube): - Professor Yu: Has an ATI TEAS 6 playlist covering A&P, basic biology and basic chemistry. She also has a separate playlist, TEAS 6 vs TEAS 7, which explains what the difference between them are and adds information on top of her teas 6 videos. Definitely check out her teas 6 playlist then add more information from the Teas 6 vs 7 videos. lOMoAR cPSD| - Brandon Craft: Has a playlist dedicated to ATI TEAS math practice and how to solve them. He gives tips on how to solve a problem faster and gives hints/tips to look out for in a problem that trick you into picking the wrong answer. - Tyler Dewitt: atomic structures, writing ionic formulas, isotopes, etc. - The Organic Chemistry Tutor: acids and bases, periodic table of elements - Also look for YouTube videos relating to periodic table of elements trends It helps if you do the practice test B of the ATI TEAS to tell you what you need to improve on but if you want to review all of the content in each section, then it is up to you and it is totally fine to apply what I did to study for each section. Okay, Let9s get started! lOMoAR cPSD| • Reading (My score: 87.2 %) - The best way to study and be prepared for this portion of the teas test is to take note and tips on what to ask yourself when finding something in a passage, as well as taking practice tests to practice reading and answering questions. - I used the ATI TEAS study guide and Smart Edition Academy. Whatever information was not in one resource but was on the other, I wrote it down on my notes. - Based on my experience, practice coming to a conclusion in a passage, make an inference of the passage, conclude the tone and perspective of the author in the passage, what type of passage is it: expository, informational, descriptive, narrative, formal/informal language, main idea, topic, etc. - Just because this is my experience it does not mean this the ONLY thing to study. Like I said previously, be ready for any and every type of question that might be asked in the reading portion. - For the ATI TEAS Study manual: summarize the information from each chapter and summarize in your own words rather than copying word for word. Write down the important information, not the supporting detail (minor details). - Read every paragraph and try to summarize what the important information is. ³ Write down the definitions they give of a given word (ex: definition of: a topic, main idea, expository, etc.). lOMoAR cPSD| ³ If you find that you understand their definition, or another resource words the definition better than the other, from either the study manual or smart edition, then feel free to write it down word-for-word. Otherwise, rewrite it in your own words so you can understand and even write examples next or below the definition to give you an idea on what to look for. ³ Write down the main idea or definitions of the chapter lesson with bullet points below said definition/main idea with short explanations (if bullet points are needed) ³ For me, I found the study manual of ATI TEAS to be very good in their simplified definition and an example to go along with it. ³ When coming to a conclusion or inference of a passage, having tips on what to ask when reading the passage to come to those reasonings is helpful. Use them as you read the passage and to answer the question that asks to come to a conclusion. ³ It9s like a 8What am I looking for in this passage?9 Here are some examples of how to take notes on reading (or at least how I took notes and helped): lOMoAR cPSD| - Smart Edition, in my opinion, comes in handy to practice reading a passage and answering questions about a passage. ³ With 8 different practice tests imitating the TEAS 7 test, it is a great way to practice what you learned from the teas study manual or smart edition (whichever resource you used to take notes) ³ It is timed too, so it definitely will help you practice pacing yourself For further practice, the unit quiz at the end of the reading section in the study manual is excellent. Each chapter lessons from the reading section comes with practice quizzes at the end. Those are good too as they give explanations in their answer keys. Write down the questions you got wrong, your answer, and the correct answer and why it is correct as opposed to the one you chose. Point out how you got tricked into picking the wrong answer. Practice, Practice, Practice! lOMoAR cPSD| • Math (My Score: 97.1%) - Some things to study based on my experience: Finding area, perimeter, and volume of different shapes (circle, triangle, rectangular prisms, trapezoid, rhombus, etc.), solving for x variables, proportions, percent interest, converting standard to metric measurements, converting word problems into algebra problems, multiplying/dividing/subtracting/adding polynomials, mean/mode/median/range, and many more that it will be too long of a list. - Basically everything that is included in the ATI TEAS study manual, it is a little bit of everything on the real test. - I mainly used Brandon Craft9s YouTube videos. His videos explain how to multiply and divide fractions, how to use PEMDAS, change fractions to decimals to percent and vice versa, the fastest way to solve problems involving fractions, percent problems (tips, discounts, sales tax, and more, proportions, etc. - Trust when I say he goes over any and every type of question that could be on the ATI TEAS test but because I wanted to be so sure I also took notes from the ATI TEAS manual and gave my own examples to support what I wrote. - I also used his ATI TEAS math review with 180 questions (which you have to buy) or his workbooks which has 100+ over all topics I mentioned in the beginning of this math section and more other topics. - He updates the workbook at no cost to you (you do not need to re-buy the workbook to get an updated version). - Go to his ati teas playlist on his YouTube channel, practice by pausing the video and solving it yourself, then play the video to see if you got the answer correct and how Brandon Craft solved it in a faster and easier process. ³ Knowing how to get to the correct answer fast really helps so that you can go back and check your work and answer once you finish answering all questions.
