wenkbrauwen zorgen ervoor dat zweet of ander vocht langs de ogen loopt en
niet erin

wimpers beschermen de ogen tegen vuil en te fel licht

oogleden beschermen het oog en verdelen het traanvocht over het oog

traanklieren produceren van traanvocht*

traanbuis het afvoeren van traanvocht naar de neusholte

harde oogvlies beschermt de binnenste delen van het oog (is vrij stevig)

iris bevat twee soorten spieren die de pupil groter of kleiner kunnen
maken

pupil opening in de iris waar het licht door gaat


* Traanvocht beschermt de ogen tegen uitdroging en spoelt kleine stofjes en
prikkelende stoffen weg.
