ANSWER Animals from high quality breeding facilities will come with a health status certidicant.
Condirmed through health status certificate.
2. What does the health status certificate promise?
ANSWER That the animals will be specific pathogen free (SPF), virus antibody free (VAF) and free of
zoonosis

ANSWER Diseases that can cross species
4. What can you do if you suspect or want to check if an animal is has diseases.-
ANSWER These are sentinel animals. The animal is placed in an environment and monitored to see if it has any disease
5. What are protected animals?
ANSWER All living vertebraes other than man, and any living cephalopod (octopus, squid,
cuttlefish, nautilus)
6. When do mammals, birds and reptiles b come protected
ANSWER When they reach the last third of their gestation period (day 14 for rats and mice) or
incubation period
