How to grow a company/growth basics:
Visualize it like the chart in the slide. [put slide here]
The point of a loop is to figure out how fast it is “spinning”
o Acquisition loops (second focus)
5 types:
Viral loop
o One person tells another person
o You want more people coming in than you are bringing in (it
means people are sharing it with others and telling others about
it)
o E.g. slack (the work chat)
B2C content loop
o E.gs:. webinars , “10 best ways to increase your social following”
and one way is their product, paid marketing
o E.g. yelp
Paid marketing loop
B2B content loop
o E.g. hubspot
Sales loop
o Physically call them up and set meetings, need actual sales reps.
o Retention loops (first focus)
If you don’t have customers constantly coming back to your platform, you will
run out of people.
Netflix needs to retain people by entertaining and engaging them then they will
stop subscribing and Netflix looses money
Engagement drives retention
4 things in it:
Trigger
o Inspires action
o Notifications, “account will be deactivated,” “hey haven’t seen
you in 4 days,” etc
Channel
o How your trigger is delivered
o E.g. email, push notification, etc
