Introduction

Ms. Anderson’s case is a complicated problem with physical, financial, social, and

psychological issues. She has four children: two identical twin boys with haemophilia and two

older daughters. She is also dealing with grief after the loss of her nephew. She does not have any

support from the children's father or social support from her family. She does not have a job

currently, but her sons' treatment is covered by Medicaid insurance, and she is currently looking

to start her own business. The nurse also linked her with a social worker to address the family's

behavioral and social work issues. The interprofessional collaboration that existed helped improve

the management of the patient through integrated care. It also ensured strengthened primary care

and comprehensive, efficient and high-value care. This paper discusses the case, identifying

various roles and the importance of interprofessional collaboration.

Registered Nurse Roles

The primary roles of a registered nurse include providing patients with care and

collaborating with other healthcare professionals, coordinating the care and educating the patients

on different conditions and how to manage them (American Nurses Association, 2017). For

instance, the RN, in this case, provided the family with care and realized the need to involve other

healthcare workers for more positive outcomes. The RNs also provide acute episodic care, health

education, and patient promotion. The RN provides the twin boys life-saving care- medical

infusion services which are required to control the bleeding disorder (Lukewich et al., 2022). The
