Define a victim - ANS - A "Victim" is any person who suffered direct physical or
emotional harm as a result of a sexual violent offense.
Define Sexual Act per MCM 2019 - ANS - A. Penetration, however, slight, of the penis
into the vulva or anus or mouth;
B. Contact between the mouth and the penis, vulva, scrotum, or anus; or
C. Penetration, however slight, of the vulva or anus of another by any part of the body
or any object, with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass, or degrade any person or to
arouse or gratify the desire of any person
Define Sexual contact per MCM 2019 - ANS - Touching, or causing another person to
touch, either directly or through the clothing, the vulva, penis, scrotum, anus, groin,
breast, inner thigh or buttocks of any person, with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass,
or degrade any person or arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person. Touching
may be accomplished by any part of the body or an object.
Define victimology - ANS - The "scientific study" of victimization including the
relationships between victims and offenders, the interactions between victims and the
,criminal justice system, and the connections between victims and other social groups
and institutions such as the media businesses, and social movements.
Describe role 1 - ANS - *First responder care
*Care by combat medic or corpsman includes triage, treatment, and evacuation
*Goals are to return to duty or stabilize to evacuate
Describe Role 2 - ANS - *Includes basic primary care
*Role 1 care, plus and may include, optometry, preventative medicine, radiographic,
COSC/behavioral health services, and surgical capabilities
Describe Role 3 - ANS - Includes provisions for:
*Evacuating patients from supported units
*Providing care for all categories
*Providing support on an area basis to units
CSH/ROle III is the level of expertise and treatment for sexual assault victims

Describe the invulnerability theory - ANS - No one likes to think they could lose control

By deciding a rape victim did something concrete to deserve the sexual assault, the
observer creates a false sense of safety
If they can avoid doing that particular thing or action then they create the illusion of
invulnerability for themselves
Describe the Just World Hypothesis - ANS - The individual wants to believe that the
world is a safe, just place where people get what they deserve and deserve what they
get

assaults? - ANS - No, they are referred to Family Advocacy Program (FAP)

Explain the juvenile justice system - ANS - The aggregate of the government agencies
that function to investigate, supervise, adjudicate, care for, or confine youthful offenders
and other children subject to the jurisdiction of the juvenile court.
In many jurisdictions, the same basic victims' rights afforded to adults are available to
juvenile offenders.
The most frequent conflict between juvenile offenders and their victims is the issue of
confidentiality, a hallmark fo the juvenile court system.
Juvenile court proceedings are often confidential and generally exclude all persons
other than court personnel from actual hearing.
