sociated with fissured tongue.
can be painful or burn, especially with spicy food but
most often asymptomatic. can wax, wane, and mi-
grate.
typically no tx, can do topical steroid gel and antihist-
amine mouth rinses for tongue sensitivity.




6. hairy tongue elongation and hypertrophy of filiform papillae.
associated with tobacco use, poor oral hygiene, and
antibiotic use.
typically asymptomatic, can experience halitosis or al-
tered taste.
