Examining for the:
●​ Circumstances - the conditions in which the evidence was gathered/ received in
●​ Currency - how up to date the evidence/ information is
●​ Bias - unfair prejudice/discrimination against someone or something
●​ Opinion - is it facts or opinion
●​ Accuracy - how accurate the evidence is and what factors could impact the
accuracy of the evidence/information

Types of information:
●​ Evidence - presented in court as either physical or testimonial
●​ Trial transcripts - a written record of the trial which usually consist of words
spoken by the judge or lawyers
●​ Media reports - reports given in different forms of media such as newspapers
articles
●​ Judgements - the outcome of the case and the sentence of the defendant if they
are found guilty
●​ Law reports - legal interpretations and reasoning for the judgement in writing

Anything physical or testimonial that can prove or disprove the prosecution or the
defences arguments of the claim made this is used by the judge or the jury to come to a
reasoned verdict

evidence
○​ Accuracy - the evidence is dependant on its accuracy to be considered
valid
○​ Relevance - the evidence need to relate to the case
○​ Authenticity - the evidence must be real and genuine and not be tampered
