Patch Panel / Technology Rack Main hub for the networking in the store

Yellow Network Cables They are for the POS devices like:
- Registers

- KVS Controller
- POS and BOS Servers
Green Network Cables They are for cashless devices:
- PED's, etc.
Blue Network Cables They connect add-on devices:

N.M.D. Network Management Device or Wayport box
- Will be on Network 1
- Technology rack will have two better segments one for the POS system and one for the
cashless system
Network Gateway For the network 2.0
- Mounted on the technology rack
, replaces the NMD
- Provides internet access for the restaurant and allows cashless devices to communicate to the
bank
B.O.S. Back Office Server:
- Communicates with the POS Server gathering sales data at store open, close and every 15
minutes
- can be upgraded to E-restaurant in which case the 15 minute delay will no longer exist
P.O.S. SERVER Point Of Sales Server:
- Is the central hub of communication for your Registers and KVS Controllers
- Routing of orders
- ICOD (Integrated Customer Order Display)
- Communicates sales to the BOS
- Restaurant builder (send config files to other devices)
Serial Hub They allow additional devices to communicate with the POS system
- Used to connect the drive thru COD's to the POS system
- also can connect the info recorder and UPS battery backup to the BOS server (being phased
out and connected directly to the BOS server using USB cables)
UPS Battery Backup Used to provide temporary pretty to the BOS and POS server in the
event of a power outage
- During a power outage the BOS server will shutdown on it's own but the POS server will need
to be manually shutdown
- Make sure all devices are properly connected in the back
K.V.M Keyboard Video Mouse switch (either avocent or aten)
