Stress Management, Positive Thinking and Assertiveness
Stress refers to an emotional or physical nuisance that triggers anxiety, frustration and rage.
This affliction has the tendency to spawn a bewildering amount of problems as it profoundly
affects our digestive, respiratory, nervous, immune and cardiovascular systems. Having said
that, the uproars caused by excessive stress (within an organization or society) cannot be
brushed aside. Factors include; Reduced productivity, a higher employee turnover rate,
persistent political or economic instability, frequent accidents/conflicts etc. I have been
capable of averting mishaps emerging from stress-borne thoughts by developing useful
coping mechanisms; Diagnosing nutrient deficiencies, doing chores, keeping an open mind,
fostering spirituality, exercising and socializing regularly. Although the idea of cultivating
positivity seems difficult, assertiveness can prevent people from encountering pre-ambiguity
stress, discrimination or abuse and becoming preoccupied with burdensome duties.
Assertiveness is not equivalent to ascendancy as it urges us to stand up for our rights, reveal
our underlying problems and express what we want. This ladder technique has proved to be
quite beneficial for me. Instead of pushing someone or something into a chaotic limbo, I
prefer suggesting alternatives and politely saying ‘no’ to situations that entail excessive
energy or concentration. Career advancement becomes easier when individuals show
empathy, express disagreement and remain calm or patient during phases of adversity.

Goal Setting (PDP)
Being at the helm of a certain project necessitates self-growth. If people fail to recognize
their strengths and weaknesses, they would not match-up to their aspirations. Self-
awareness or reflection helps individuals discern how their actions, capabilities and
emotions could exert an impact upon people or organizations. People who are cognizant of
their areas of expertise end up succeeding in their endeavors and setting new benchmarks
for upcoming vacancies. A person’s objectives should be SMART. Since I know where have I
