Food Aversion

Pickles have caused me trouble ever since I was a child. My introduction to them as a

food was even unpleasant. I remember going to McDonald's with my grandma as a kid and

getting a cheeseburger. Unbeknownst to me, there were pickles on the cheeseburger. Sandwiched

in between the bun, a thin layer of mustard/ketchup, minced onions, and the patty was two huge

slices of pickle. The hot briney taste immediately overwhelmed the flavors in my mouth.

Followed by the slimy yet chewy texture that ultimately ended in a sour unbearable taste. I

couldn't do it. I immediately spit it out and asked for a new burger with no pickles. That was the

day my hatred for pickles began.

Pickles are an inferior food because they are made out of a better food in the first place.

Cucumbers being turned into pickles is possibly one of the most disrespectful things someone

can do. From the extremely overpowering smell to the varying shapes there is nothing good

about them. They are the worst addition to sandwiches because of their revolting taste. They are

extremely phallic-looking in their true form. Which is something immediately off putting, similar

to eggplants. Making the eating process unbearable and honestly embarrassing to do in public.

The sound people make when eating pickles is the worst combination of slurping and crunching

that I have ever heard. Overall pickles should be a last resort to the many things we can do and
