Current IT Environment
Components (including examples of service and delivery, scalability, flexibility,
interoperability, resilience, and security)
Currently,Saas TreasureChest hosts applications in different locations and is
headquatered in London,United Kingdom. Its operational offices are located
in Paris, France;New York, new York;San Diego, Carlifornia;Tokyo,
Biejing,China; and Dubai,United Arab emmirates.
In addition, the company comprises 600 employees and seven consultants
and 80% of these employees and consultants are in information technology.
Small business accounts for about 70% of TreasureChest’s customer base,
SaaS Operation medium businesses account for about 25% and large businesses account for
about 5%.
As a Saas service, TreasureChest bills its customers monthly for each
subscription based on the number of users in the account. This makes larger
businesses more profitable compared to the smaller ones. The system is user
friendly, and meets user needs which is an example of service and delivery.
Even though TreasureChest owns the hardware, it is housed at
EquinixSystems' co-located data centers, which are spread across four
different cities worldwide.
Hardware This IT department must revisit the operational workflow for faster more
efficient operation which involves examining technical operations and
changes to hardware databases.
Currently, TreasureChest has network closets in every major office that runs
on a Cat5 twisted-pair network with performance up to 100 MHz. The
network is monitored by OnsOne Ltd. The IT department also needs to
Operating Systems revisit the operational system. These systems have some scalability to be
(OS) able to handle the workload.
TreasureChest currently has 2 network engineers. Together with other IT
teams uses OnsOne Ltd, a banking network provider located in Paris. It
monitors TreasureChest’s computing systems and netwoks from 1800h to
Networks 0700h, that is Monday through Friday ; 1800h Friday to 0700h Monday.
This proves the flexibility potentials to adapt in any given domain.
TreasureChest operates a treasury management software service through a
Software customer facing environment. The company develops and hosts its software

applications demonstrating some level of security. They write their own
application software in Java and its communication protocols in python.
TreasureChest recognizes that the application needs rebuilding or re-
archetecture. All this proves their resilience should in case of outages.
The IT operations team has two database administartors. TreasureChest
databases are built on a SQL standard using a variety of open source and

Microsoft versions. These systems work with each other exhibiting
interoperability.
