Introduction

Acute and chronic pain are the most common types, and each day they afflict millions of

people in the United States alone. Even though their use has been linked to significant hazards,

such as addiction, dependency, and overdose, opioids have been widely utilized as a pain

management tool. This is even though their usage has been associated with the use. As a result,

non-pharmacological pain treatment options are expanding in popularity and are increasingly

used as an alternative to or in conjunction with opioid drugs.

Comparing the efficacy and safety of low-dose opioid treatment vs. high-dose opioid

treatment for individuals suffering from acute or chronic pain is the focus of this investigation (

Nury et al.,2022). All persons who participated in this research were experiencing either acute or

chronic pain during their participation. In addition to the various approaches to pain

management, the intervention will include using low-dose opioid medication. The key goals of

research that contrasts high-dose opioid treatment with placebo are an improvement in pain

management as well as a reduction in the severity of adverse effects. Results from this study will

shed light on the pros and cons of combining low-dose opioid medication with non-

pharmacological pain management strategies for treating acute and chronic pain. These findings

can potentially improve the quality of care for those experiencing pain by informing therapeutic

decision-making.
