A. Write a workforce planning summary by doing the following:
1. Using the information in the “Organizational Memo on Proposed Hiring
Plan” supporting document, recommend one approach to successfully
address the labor shortage and meet the CEO’s request, considering the
organization’s need to hire more computer programmers and senior
programmers.
As a solution to labor shortages, I have chosen to offer this new
program. Initially, this position will be offered to internal employees
as an opportunity for advancement. In the past, employees have not
had many advancement opportunities, causing them to be
dissatisfied. It is important to offer this to our valued employees
first to ensure their retention. Once that is done, we can backfill
their previous positions, which should be more entry-level, giving
us a larger pool of candidates to hire from.
When CEOs work in person, they value the strong teamwork that
results from this. Despite the possibility of expanding our applicant
pool by using remote work, we should avoid it. As a result, I believe
that promoting internally first will help us fill the new positions
(senior programmers), and then the positions (computer
programmers with less qualifications) should be easier to fill.
2. Explain one way the organization can incorporate job enlargement or
job enrichment in the computer programmer position, using the
“Organizational Memo on Proposed Hiring Plan” and “Pruhart Tech Job
Descriptions” supporting documents.
It has been reported that some current computer programmers have
grown bored of their jobs. To enrich their jobs, we want them to be
included in new and upcoming tech projects to give them variety.
Employees will also be challenged by this, which will keep them
engaged and prevent boredom. Their creative abilities will be
enhanced through the design, writing, and analysis of new
programs. As part of the product development process, engineers
will have to work with quality control, quality assurance, and
security teams to ensure the final product meets the customer's
requirements.
