MYC200 COMPREHENSIVE EXAM 2025/2026
QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS GRADED A+
✔✔Login Retries - ✔✔MyChart will deactivate an account after five failed patient login
attempts, by default. You can alter this number, as well as other website‐specific
settings in the MyChart Environment Records.

MyChart System Manager Menu > Enter/Edit Environment Records > MyChart

✔✔What is the purpose of an activation code? - ✔✔To supply a unique piece of
information used to validate the patient's identity.

✔✔You are a physician seeing a patient today for an office visit. The patient would like
to sign up for MyChart. How could you quickly send the patient activation information via
text message? - ✔✔-Using Instant Activation
-Sending the text from the Rooming activity

✔✔You are working at the front desk and receive a call from a patient wanting to sign
up for MyChart at home. How should you generate their activation code? - ✔✔Open the
patient's chart, go to the MyChart Administration Activity, and an Instant Activation link
via email, text, or printing a letter.

✔✔Patients View Their Health Information - ✔✔There are many options for a patient on
how they can view their health information in MyChart. You can allow patients to pull
information in from several different organizations, download their personal health
record, and more. You will also discover the different languages MyChart can be
translated into and see what types of information can be translated.

✔✔MyChart Mobile - ✔✔Starting in this chapter, you will see references to testing build
and exercises in MyChart Mobile and Bedside. If you are studying at home after class or
because you are self‐ studying, you will not be able to test in MyChart mobile.
You will still be able to get all the information you need for the exam and the project
through testing in MyChart on your computer and reading through the mobile specific
exercises.

✔✔Patient Viewing Information in MyChart - ✔✔Once a patient is signed up for MyChart
there are several ways they can see their health information presented. A patient can
request their information a number of different ways.

✔✔Happy Together - ✔✔Happy Together is a design philosophy that aims to create a
single interwoven thread across Epic and other EHRs to improve patient care and care
coordination. Epic brings together information across sources to form a comprehensive
narrative for clinicians, care managers, community members, and patients.

,✔✔Happy Together for Outside Organizations - ✔✔Happy Together for outside
organizations is turned on by default. Without any work on your part, patients can link
their MyChart account and see their medications, allergies, and health issues from
organizations they've visited that use an EHR other than Epic, so long as the
organization has joined the MyChart Happy Together Network.
This helps our patients by allowing them to see a more complete view of their health
without having to log into multiple accounts.
Think of chronic disease management and patients that see multiple healthcare
providers, sometimes across multiple healthcare organizations. The benefits of Happy
Together are endless to someone in this situation: viewing a complete schedule, a
complete medication list, a complete list of test results, and so on.

✔✔What about filtering? - ✔✔There may be certain information your organization does
not release to MyChart ‐ but a different organization does release that type of
information.
Happy Together respects the filtering and access set up by each organization. If your
organization does not allow certain information to be released to MyChart, the patient
will not see that information in MyChart no matter what account they log into.
You are in control of the information that your organization releases. Other
organizations can not release this information for you.

✔✔Authorize Sharing - ✔✔Patients have the ability to authorize sharing of their records
with other providers and organizations via Care Everywhere. If a patient is seeing a new
provider, referred to a specialist, or moving to a new area, this digital form in MyChart
begins that sharing process.
This digital form quickens the process for patient record sharing. As Care Everywhere
links to more healthcare organizations, the process will continue to improve.
Note that patients must have the access point 163 - Care Everywhere Authorization
within their access classification to use this feature in MyChart.

✔✔Share Everywhere - ✔✔Share Everywhere allows patient‐driven interoperability.
Patients are able to provide one‐time access to their health record quickly with any
provider who has access to the internet.

✔✔Share Code - ✔✔A patient can generate a Share Code via the MyChart Mobile app
to give to just about anyone. This code is active for 60 minutes and is 1‐time use. The
clinician enters the Share Code on www.shareeverywhere.com and confirms the
patient's date of birth. This gives them the ability to see the patient's health record
summary and other clinical data. The clinician can write a note, which will then be filed
to the patient's chart as a Share Everywhere Direct message. These can be found in the
Outside Records activity or in Chart Review under the Encounters tab. There's an
optional step to review these notes before they reach the chart via the Incoming
Messages Report. To remove a Share Everywhere note, a user can flag the message
as inappropriate, which will remove it from the chart and deactivate the DXR record.

,✔✔Share Everywhere Features - ✔✔-Is patient controlled
-Works anywhere in the world
-Has no interoperability/EHR requirements -- the recipient of the Share Code just needs
a computer and an internet connection.
-Allows a note to be sent back to the home organization to further continuity of care.
-Provides a consistent user interface for the Share Everywhere code recipient,
regardless of what health system the data comes from.

✔✔MyChart Care Companion - ✔✔MyChart Care Companion is an interactive, highly
individualized plan of care delivered to at‐risk patients through user‐friendly, accessible
technology. Using Care Companion, care managers will be able to turn a patient's care
plan and goals into step‐by‐step guides and tasks to help them stay healthy. These
tasks include timely reminders delivered to patients' devices through MyChart Mobile for
medications and therapies, regular check‐ins, and communication between the patient,
family caregivers, and care managers.

✔✔MyChart Bedside - ✔✔MyChart Bedside encourages a high level of patient
engagement during patient stays in a hospital environment. MyChart Bedside was
designed to make the hospital stay more productive and enjoyable as well as reduce
readmission rates. MyChart Bedside is a separate license from MyChart. Ask your Epic
representative for more details.

✔✔MyChart Beside Integration - ✔✔MyChart Bedside integrates with the MyChart
Mobile app, making Bedside available on personal smartphones, as well as tablets,
anywhere. When a patient is admitted, a subset of MyChart Bedside features appear
automatically inside MyChart Mobile on the patient or proxy's phone or tablet.

✔✔Features that can be accessed via MyChart Bedside on a table device include - ✔✔-
View upcoming events on the patient's schedule
-Get to know the patient's treatment team
-Send non-urgent messages and requests
-View up-to-date health information and lab results
-Review educational materials
-Sign up for access and MyChart

✔✔Web-Based MyChart Account - ✔✔If the patient has an active MyChart account that
they use at home, the information they were able to see in MyChart Bedside will also be
available in their web‐based MyChart account from their computer or mobile device.
Bedside is fully configured in the Foundation System. Your organization will have to
configure how the tablets communicate with your Epic internal network, typically using
Interconnect.
This mobile configuration will involve your IT team, as well as several Epic
representatives. Review the supporting documentation listed below, and reach out to
your Epic team.

, ✔✔What feature did Ellie use to make these requests? (Bedside - To-Do Icon) -
✔✔Requests (formarly know as I would like...)

✔✔Ellie requested more than this, who do you think could have received the other
requests? - ✔✔Other support staff. Requests can be routed to the staff who would be
most appropriate to fill that request.

✔✔What options does the nurse have? (Bedside To-Do icon) - ✔✔Mark the task as
done, jump into Ellie's chart, edit the details of the task, or skip the task.

✔✔Flowsheets Activity: How can you tell the answer is coming from the patient? -
✔✔Diagonal stripes, a person icon in the filed, and if you click on the row it is listed as
"reported by" Ellie.

✔✔Change one of Ellie's answers - ✔✔A clinician can update a patient's answer if
needed/

✔✔Bedside Chat - ✔✔Here is where you are able to chat back and forth with the patient
about non-urgent questions.

✔✔Why are Medications under separate tabs instead of in line like everything else? -
✔✔Medications are shown with a separate tab for each organization for patient safety.
We don't consolidate duplicate medications and show them in one place to avoid errors
when consolidating medications.

✔✔Announcements - ✔✔You can use announcements to make sure patients see
important information on the home page, such as a notice for an upcoming system
downtime, construction, a weather alert, or a special event at your organization.
Announcements can be filtered with a rule, otherwise announcements are visible to all
patients who use MyChart. Patients do not need any special security to view
announcements.

✔✔MyChart in Other Languages - ✔✔MyChart can be translated into different
languages. Epic offers secondary language support for patients who are living in a
country that does not speak their native tongue. For example, a patient living in the
United States can have MyChart translated into French. For many countries we offer
local support, meaning the country's primary language is not English and everything
﴾Hyperspace as well as MyChart﴿ should be translated. For example: A customer in
Denmark has the primary language for everything as Danish, and can add secondary
languages such as Spanish or English for Danes who do not speak Danish as their
primary language.

✔✔Translated Text - ✔✔Many things can be translated into a secondary language in
MyChart, however there will be some things that will remain in the primary language.
