Healthcare administration is a complex and multifaceted field, and there are numerous

administration issues are. Rising healthcare costs have been a significant challenge in the

healthcare industry for many years. Healthcare administrators play a crucial role in addressing

this issue. Another issue is implementing and managing Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in

healthcare administration can be challenging. EHRs are digital versions of a patient's paper chart

and contain their medical history, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and other essential

health information. While EHRs offer numerous benefits, including improved patient care,

streamlined workflows, and enhanced data accessibility, they do come with their own set of

challenges.

The following are some key considerations when implementing and managing an EHR.

Software, hardware, training, and ongoing maintenance can all be expensive when implementing

an EHR system. Budgeting for these expenses and planning financial resources are crucial for

healthcare organizations. Keeping patient health information secure and private is of the utmost

importance (Jamshed, N. 2015). Regulatory requirements like the Health Insurance Portability

and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States require healthcare organizations to

implement robust security measures to protect EHRs. The use of EHR systems requires proper

training for healthcare professionals, from doctors to nurses to administrative staff.

Training inadequacies can lead to errors and decreased efficiency. There may be

incompatibilities between EHR systems from different vendors, which makes it difficult for

providers to exchange patient information. The goal of achieving seamless patient care is

interoperability. It can be complicated and time-consuming to switch from paper records to
