same effects

-EX. cry→ get food, or removal of instruction

Where does behavior occur? ✅✅ANSW--in an environment

-environment and stimuli must be independent of behavior

-it must be a physical environment in which the organism or organism's effector

exist

-external environment (ex. a room a person walks into)

-internal environment (ex. someone's brain where neurons are firing)

What are the three key attributes that define stimulus? ✅✅ANSW--1 exists in the environment

-2 an energy change (bc a static change that is always there will not be detected

by an organism--aka will not affect behavior...ex. a dream)

-3 detectable by an organism (ex. red light turn green, but you were

distracted--that change did not serve as a stimulus to you bc you did not see it)

-outside of body (sunset)

-inside of body (headache)

Is the event an energy change? Can it be detected by the organism? Is it in a physical and natural
environment?
