Context:

a. A problem that I wish to address in Unit 3 of the Frog Street curriculum

would be it is lacking the nonacademic skill of cultural competence. I say

thing because it lacks diversity within the lessons.

b. One specific component of the curriculum that addresses the lack of cultural

competence is a story titled, “Coletta’s Cookies.” The characters in the story

“Coletta’s Cookies” are all Caucasian. In my specific community and school,

we have a lot of diverse learners. I would add more stories with more diverse

characters so my non-white preschoolers can have representation within our
