Hi, Prof. Lee and everyone!
Finally, we have made it to week
8!
Upon completing the adapts regarding nutrition and cardiovascular health, stress response,
immunity, and renal health, it was very insightful. I believe that most individuals know this: in
order to have longevity, one must eat healthy, diet, and exercise, which will lower one's risk of
diseases and detrimental cancers. "Two of the leading causes of heart disease and stroke are high
blood pressure and high blood cholesterol" (National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and
Health Promotion, 2022). Reading through edapt, I learned that 30-50% of all cancers could be
prevented through modifiable risk factors, which means limiting things you expose yourself to,
dieting, cutting out animal products, exercising, smoking, alcohol consumption, and toxic
environment.
