Reaction Paper 1
The origins of modern Psychology can be put under seven main perspectives. Thes
perspectives are: Psychodynamic, Behavioral, Humanistic, Cognitive, Biological,
Evolutionary and Sociocultural. These seven perspectives sought out to explain the co
minds and actions of people of today. However, psychologists usually do not agree wi
these perspectives and only may see a few as correct. It is a very subjective list as eve
professional differs in their attitude towards this list as I also see this list as only
demonstrating few strong perspectives of the complexity of the human mind. The hum
mind and human behavior are very different as it moves from person to person based
upbringing, location, genetics and the environment people are placed in. A six-year-old
Kenya has very different behaviors and mental processes compared to a forty-seven-y
in New York City. That being said, I believe that the two most important perspectives fo
mental processes and human behavior are psychodynamic which dives into the uncon
dynamics, internal motives, conflicts, and past experiences. As well as cognitive which
focuses on thinking, knowing and information processing. I believe that these are the
best perspectives as they demonstrate a great deal of importance in the mind and exp
