1. Look at the syllabus- make sure that you have read all the assignments after the
midterm.

2. Look over the folder with the questions for each role in the production
presentation folder.
- Actor- Actors write a full and complete character analysis of their character
- designer- The designer will determine how to design the show (set, lights,
sound, projections, costumes, special effects) to support the concept and overall
meaning of the show.
- Producer- Producers have complete management authority over the team. They
provide the budget, marketing concept and execution, hire members of the team
and plan the overall life of the show after opening. They identify audiences and
plan for ways to bring in revenue
- director- The director is the highest creative authority in the team. The director
provides the overall concept and “look” of the show, and the most creative and
engaging way to communicate the intentions of the writer in a highly theatrical
way onstage. The director is responsible for creating dramatic action and
dramatic tension from the script and communicating that to the audience.
- dramaturg- The dramaturg is the research person on the team, giving historical
context and meaning to the script. The dramaturg supports the writer with
research and analysis, supports the director with design research and often
functions as an extra set of eyes during rehearsals, insuring that all of the
elements together support the concept of the director. Dramaturg provide the
actor’s packet, providing information to each actor about his character, especially
time period information and how people lived, moved and thought during that era.
Often the dramaturg will also support the designer by providing visual images as
inspiration.
- playwright- The playwright writes the script and plans how to let the story unfold
onstage through the action of the plot. playwrights are to analyze the structure of
the script from the perspective of both the external action as well as the internal
(psychological) action, to determine theme and to analyze any elements (music,
diction, genre, repeating metaphors, title) that gives the overall meaning of the
show as well as to provide research into the writer’s life and why he wrote this
script.

3. Know how to draw each actor/audience configuration, and the rest of those notes
re: site-specfic, immersive and interactive theater.
