Give a brief overview of the main topic you will cover in your play. = In our play, we
explore what it’s like to try and find love in New York City, a place full of busy lives and big
dreams. The two main characters, Chloe and Zach, come from very different backgrounds. Chloe
is a hardworking, successful businesswoman who owns her own company and spends most of
her time focused on work. Zach, on the other hand, has spent a lot of time caring for his sick
mother and is just now starting to go after his dreams. He’s excited about landing an internship,
though he has no idea that it’s at Chloe’s company. The story begins when Chloe and Zach bump
into each other on the train. Zach feels an immediate connection and is drawn to Chloe’s
confidence and success. But instead of being honest about his life, he decides to lie, claiming to
be a wealthy and important businessman to impress her. These lies set the stage for the story,
creating both humorous and serious moments as Zach tries to keep up his act.
Everything comes crashing down when Chloe walks into her office and sees Zach being
introduced as the new intern. The truth comes out, and Chloe realizes she’s been lied to. This
moment forces both characters to take a hard look at themselves. For Chloe, it’s frustrating and
disappointing, making her feel like love in a city like New York is just too complicated. For
Zach, it’s a wake-up call about how lying and pretending to be someone you’re not can ruin what
could’ve been a real connection. The play shows the struggles of trying to find love in a place as
, fast-paced and demanding as New York. It’s not just about romance—it’s also about figuring out
who you are and learning that honesty is more important than pretending to be something you’re
not. The story feels real and relatable because it doesn’t follow the usual "happily ever after"
path, but instead gives a more honest look at love and relationships in today’s world.
Identify and describe the STASIS= At the beginning of the play, both characters are
stuck in their own daily routines, which show how predictable their lives are. Zach is a kind man
who spends most of his time taking care of his sick mom. His life is all about helping her,
working, and following a simple, steady routine. Chloe, on the other hand, is busy and always on
the move. She owns her own business and is constantly running to meetings, going on
spontaneous dates, and dealing with surprises. Even though they live very different lives, both
are caught in their own patterns. Zach has his steady routine of taking care of his mom and
working, while Chloe is swept up in the chaos of her work and dating life. They both live in
these familiar, predictable rhythms, not knowing that things are about to change for both of them.
‘World of the play’= The world of the play is set in the fast-paced, busy environment of
New York City, a place where everything is always moving and people’s lives cross paths in
unexpected ways. The subway, an important part of everyday life in the city, is a key setting for
the story. It’s on the subway where Chloe and Zach first meet. The moment happens when a
random man bumps into Chloe, causing her to drop all her things. Zach sees this and offers to
help her, which is how they first connect. They end up running into each other again on the train,
showing how their lives are slowly starting to overlap. The play highlights the energy of New
York City, where the hustle and bustle of everyday life brings people together, sometimes in
surprising ways. This setting fits perfectly with Chloe’s life, as she’s a busy businesswoman
always on the move, juggling meetings, work, and other responsibilities. It shows how both
