1. Exposure
Answer: Completely undress patient, but prevent hypothermia by putting on
warming blankets

3. 10 second assessment
Answer:

Ask the patient their name

M Medications (OTC, prescription, herbal, recreational or supplemental)
P Past medical history or pregnancy
L Last meal:
Oral intake (what was it and when)
Menstrual period (female with abdominal pain) Bowel movement (any patient with
abdominal pain)
E Events leading to the episode/ Environment related to injury
5. Prehospital phase
Answer: Airway mx, breathing support, control of bleeding and shock,
immbolization, transport to nearest appropriate facility (hopefully a trauma center)
6. Primary Survey
Answer: ABCDE with resuscitation adjuncts FG
7. Secondary Survey
Answer: a head-to-toe physical assessment; an additional assessment of a patient to
determine the existence of any injuries other than those foundin the primary survey
8. Hospital Phase
