PRE-LAB QUESTIONS
1. Identify three major similarities and differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
Similarities between prokaryotes and eukaryotes are they both have a plasma
membrane, cell wall, and a cytoplasm.
Differences are prokaryote do not have a nucleus, meanwhile eukaryotes do.
Eukaryotes have a membrene-bound organelle and lastly prokaryotes are less complex
while eukaryotes are not.
2. Where is the DNA housed in a prokaryotic cell? Where is it housed in a eukaryotic cell?
DNA in prokaryotes are in the nucleoid, while as in eukaryotes it is stored in the nucleus.
3. Identify three structures which provide support and protection in a eukaryotic cell.
Cell membrane, Cell Walls, and Cytoskeleton.
