There are 5 physical fitness components that will be measured in one
day as a battery of tests.
ILEA Physical Fitness Requirements
o Vertical Jump
This measures leg power and consists of measuring how
high a person jumps.
o One Minute Sit Ups
This measures abdominal, or trunk, muscular endurance.
While laying on his/her back, the student will be given one
minute to do as many bent legs sit ups as possible.
o 300 Meter Run
This measures anaerobic power, or the ability to make an
intense burst of effort for a short time period or distance.
This component consists of sprinting 300 meters as fast as
possible.
o Maximum Push Ups
This measures the muscular endurance of the upper body.
This component consists of doing as many pushups as
possible until muscular failure.
o 1.5 Mile Run
This measures aerobic power or cardiovascular endurance
(stamina over time). To complete this component, you
must run/walk, as fast as possible, 1.5 miles.
50 Round Qualification Pistol Course
o Stage 1
3-yard line- 10 rounds in 2 magazines of 5 rounds. Two
handed, strong handed firing
The shooter will start with one (01) magazine of 5 rounds
loaded and holstered. When the target faces, fire 3 rounds
in 5 seconds. The shooter will then scan and go to the low
ready. When the target faces a second time, the shooter
will fire 2 rounds, conduct a combat magazine exchange,
and then fire 2 rounds in a total of 12 seconds. The shooter
will scan and go to the low ready. When the target faces a
third time, the shooter will fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds.
