Marriage is a stage in life for many individuals around the world. People prepare ahead
when it comes to marriage and ceremonies. Hence, bride and groom families make investments
and save for this eventful day just like any other significant event in life such as funerals, birth,
graduation etc. Opinions on marriage differ from individual to individual as well as nation to
nation depending on the demographics of a nation. Many of the so called “conservative” nations
still practice marriage as part of life while others with a more “liberal minded” democracy
consider marriage as a privilege just like an employment or business opportunity. However, no
matter the opinion on marriage, marriage is practiced all around the world to mark the start of
adulthood and responsibility. Hence, marriage is not outdated because it adds to quality of life,
plays an important role in the development of human beings and is a contributing factor in
healthier lifestyle.
First of all, marriage is not outdated in today’s age because it adds quality to the lives of
the bride and the groom. Contrary to personal beliefs and opinions of few individuals and groups
(who do not find marriage compatible with today’s technological age), marriage is still the
beginning of a modern family compatible with todays technology and fashion. As a matter of
fact, marriage adds value to the world of technology and fashion. Since, marriage ceremonies
require different types of attires, cultures around the world make clothes meant specifically for
this eventful day. In the process of making these dress for the bride, groom and the families
involved, they bring innovations in the world of fashion. With Hollywood and Bollywood, often
advertising marriage in their movies and music videos, the dress standards of bride, groom and
families who attend the marriage ceremonies have evolved over a period of time. This evolution
has added millions if not billions of dollars to the international economy and GDP’s of many
