Government in Action Summary
Instructions
Everyone will write a detailed summary detailing their observations of a specific
government activity. There is flexibility in selecting the specific government activity to
observe. You can choose online council meetings, TV new shows such as: ABC's This Week,
CBS's Face the Nation, CNN's State of the Nation, FOX News Sunday, or NBC's Meet the
Press. These are only suggestions and you certainly can choose other government activities
to observe. Podcasts are also acceptable as well as governmental debates.
Attending your activity will earn you extra points, but attending is not a requirement
for this assignment.
Your summary should be no longer that two pages and should include the following:
the date of the activity, the names of as many important members present. Your summary
should include important details and issues that were discussed. Finally, be sure to include a
personal reflection, detailing your thoughts and feelings regarding what you observed.
You will be asked to briefly share your summary in class.

consisted of the panelists and leaders sharing insights about the presidential election and
issues the voters care about. The host was Kristen Welker; the guests were the Republican
National Committee head Michael Whatley Ronna McDaniel, Democrat pollster Cornell
Belcher, and journalist & political analyst Amy Walter. It dedicated one segment to the
discussion of the current status of presidential race between republican presidential candidate
