Self- Esteem Personal Assessment and Reflection Paper
After completing the self-assessment, I received a score of 12 out of 30, which places me
in the category of low self-esteem. This result was not surprising to me, as I have been told by
others that my self-esteem is very low and that I need to be more sure of myself. For a long time,
I’ve struggled with feeling confident in my abilities, and I have often found it difficult to
acknowledge my own strengths. This self-assessment simply confirmed what I had already
known, but it also gave me a clearer picture of where my self-esteem issues stem from and how
they might be affecting my life.
The process of assessing myself was both challenging and eye-opening. It forced me to
confront the areas where I constantly doubt myself and the negative thoughts I often have about
my worth. The questions were designed to help me evaluate how I view myself in different
aspects of my life, including my achievements, relationships, and overall sense of self-worth.
While it was difficult to answer some of the questions honestly, it was also a helpful exercise in
recognizing just how much I downplay my successes and focus on my perceived failures.
When I first saw my score of 12/30, it felt almost like confirmation of what I’ve been told
by others about my low self-esteem. I wasn’t shocked by the score, but it still brought up a sense
of frustration. I’ve been told many times that I need to be more confident and sure of myself, and
seeing this low score made me realize just how much those observations hold true. It’s a constant
struggle for me to feel secure in my abilities, even though I know I’ve had successes. This
assessment was not just a reflection of where I am now, but also a reminder of how much work I
